Fabricators In Bloom

The Story of Cannibal Flower

Cannibal Flower is the passion project of art dealer L. Croskey, who is also a co-founder of Thinkspace Gallery in Culver City. He founded it in part to be free from the constraints of the business aspects and politics of a gallery, but mostly to advocate for the artists’ successful navigation through a complex art world. The vibrancy and determination of some artists also influenced him to start weekly portfolio reviews where artists were given advice from an industry insider, which is unheard of. Cannibal Flower’s monthly art shows, which lasted 15 years, helped polish emerging artists in Los Angeles, in turn launching the careers of some of the biggest names in art who now show internationally and have thriving careers.

Through the financial ups and downs created by the pandemic, L.C. co-owned Art Bar LA, which closed in late 2024. Cannibal Flower has kept its dedication to mentoring artists, and L.C. continues to hold regular portfolio reviews and organizes art shows at venues in downtown LA. Fabricators In Bloom tells the story of creatives succeeding and thriving with the aid of this unique figure among art dealers.
